Best Call of Duty Meta Loadouts: Top 5 Class Setups Right Now

The five loadouts dominating lobbies this season — attachments, perks, and why each build works.

The Season 4 weapon balance pass shook up the meta: last season’s dominant AR took a recoil nerf, and two SMGs quietly became the best close-range options in the game. Here are the five loadouts winning the most gunfights right now, with the reasoning behind each attachment choice.

1. The all-range AR (best overall)

The current top assault rifle wins at every range that matters in 6v6. Build it for recoil control first: compensator muzzle, vertical grip, and the mid-length barrel that keeps bullet velocity high without tanking ADS speed. Pair with Ghost and a fast-hand perk package.

2. The rush SMG

The mobility SMG is the pick for small maps and objective modes. Maximum sprint-to-fire speed, laser for hipfire in emergencies, and the extended mag — because this gun’s only weakness is running dry mid-push.

3. The marksman rifle

Two-tap potential at any range makes this the highest-skill, highest-reward build in the current meta. Run it on larger maps with a 3x optic and stability attachments. If your first shot lands, you win the fight.

4. The anchor LMG

For objective modes, the LMG with the heavy barrel and bipod-adjacent recoil setup locks down lanes like nothing else. You are not mobile — you are the reason the enemy team cannot cross mid.

5. The pistol-swap secondary build

The sleeper pick: an AR built entirely around ADS speed with the machine pistol secondary. Loses fair long-range fights, wins everything inside 15 meters. Perfect for breaking hill rotations.

Meta watch

A mid-season weapon tuning pass is expected within two weeks. The rush SMG is the most likely nerf target — have a backup AR leveled.

Perk and equipment template

  • Perk 1: Ghost or Flak depending on mode (Ghost default).
  • Perk 2: Fast Hands for weapon-swap speed — mandatory on the AR and SMG builds.
  • Perk 3: the objective-time reducer for Hardpoint and Control.
  • Lethal: frag for lane denial; Tactical: stun for pushes, smoke for rotations.
